中國人民抗日戰爭暨世界反法西斯戰爭勝利八十周年

 

This year is the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and in the World Anti-Fascist War. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) organised a series of commemorative activities with clear themes and profound significance aim to remember this magnificent history; to cherish peace; to promote the great spirit of patriotism. Enhances the public’s sense of national belonging, and builds consensus on defending the country and contributing to national development.

 

To place great importance on commemorating the 80th anniversary of victory in the War of Resistance, the Hong Kong Museum of History (HKMH) and the Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance & Coastal Defence (MWRCD) will stage thematic exhibitions focus on the War of Resistance. Deepening the history of the War of Resistance, as well as showcasing the special contribution of Hong Kong in the war. By cooperating with different sectors of society, to promote the spirit of patriotism, and enhance correct understanding and sense of identity with the country and the nation of Hong Kong citizens.

 

The Hong Kong Film Archive (HKFA), the Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence (MWRCD), the Hong Kong Museum of History (HKMH) and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum (HKHM) will jointly present a war-related film screening, which will screen six films from 1941 to 2024 free of charge for audiences to have a deeper understanding of this significant historical period.

 

LCSD also organises various commemorative activities, including the thematic lectures, field visits, workshops, will uphold the core spirits and principles, allowing public to have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the history of the War of Resistance.
